Examining the Literacy Abilities of Young People With Language Difficulties Who Are Serving Community Orders Within the Youth Justice Service

Language and literacy difficulties are prevalent in young people involved youth justice services (YJS). Given the known importance of language for development, few studies have examined abilities YJS who difficulties. The writing this population yet to be despite their participation restorative justice. This study word reading, spelling, reading comprehension expository 48 aged between 12 18 years were on community orders identified as having scored −1SD below all subtest norms displayed extremely low subtest. Young should screened potential support access interventions aimed at reducing recidivism.
